Prayer Concerns

Adoration --

Rev. 5:13 ~ “Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever.’”

Confession --

Prov. 28:13 ~ “He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

Thanksgiving --

James 1:17 ~ “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”

Give thanks for warmer temperatures and for warm homes we have to live in. Pray for safety for those needing shelter from the cold during this winter season.

Give thanks for God’s protection over John Van Engen this week as he went through surgery.

Supplication --

Phil. 4:19 ~ “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.”

Pray that the fluid removed from John’s brain will be infection free.

Pray for Natasha Hooyer as she anticipates surgery on Tuesday; that there will be no complications and that she will have a smooth recovery.

Pray for those going on the SALT team work project. Pray for the Lord’s blessings on their work and for safe travels.

Pray for those who are hurting, struggling with illness, or coping with the loss of a loved one.

As we continue to pray for the various churches of our community, we pray this week for the Peace Lutheran Church congregation and the ministry of Pastor Bill Loefke.

Praise:  to our God, El Elyon, (God Most High)
                For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
                you are exalted far above all gods.  Ps 97:9
                For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
                I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
                        How great are your works, Lord,
                how profound your thoughts! Ps 92:4-5 (see also vs 1-3)
Give thanks:
  • that we have had a good year with respect to Safe Families in Sioux County
  • for the tireless work of the Bethany staff
  • for a growing relationship between staff and ministry leads in NW IA
  • that Safe Family kids were able to return home after their mom had surgery
  • for all the donations we have received and for those who have given these donations
Be in prayer for:
  • Atlas of Sioux Center and Bethany as they explore working together with the Safe Families ministry.
  • A meeting in Des Moines (just before Christmas) with government officials as Bethany presents a request which impacts how Safe Families operats.
  • The families that have been helped by Safe Families in our area, some of which still continue to experience crisis.
  • Families who are experiencing difficulties: the holidays  often add stress and can exasperate these families into a crisis or lead to other issues at home. Pray that these families would come to our attention that we might bring "light" and peace to their lives.
