I John 1:7 ~ “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Thanksgiving --

Ps. 7:17 ~ “I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High.”

Give thanks for a successful Trail’Raiser Night and many blessings on SCCS.

Give thanks for Pastors Bob, Chad and Dave.  Pray for them as they lead and guide our church family.

Supplication --

I Thes. 5:17 ~ “Pray without ceasing.”

Pray for Theressa Ver Steeg as she recovers from surgery.

Pray for God’s blessings on the marriage of Cody and Miranda.

Continue to pray for Amy Van Voorst, Jessica Van Holland, John Van Engen, and Mavis Ryan as they deal with cancer and the effects of treatments.

Pray for all those with illness or special needs, that God will provide comfort and healing.

Pray for Michael and Megan Ribbens and their family who serve far from home in South Africa.  Pray for blessings on them and those they serve in His name.

Pray for safety for our military members, active or reserves, who proudly serve our country.

As we continue to pray for the various churches of our community, we pray this week for the First Reformed Church congregation and the ministry of Pastors Travis Else and Jamie Dykstra.

Praise:  to our God, El Elyon, (God Most High)
                For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
                you are exalted far above all gods.  Ps 97:9
                For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
                I sing for joy at what your hands have done.
                        How great are your works, Lord,
                how profound your thoughts! Ps 92:4-5 (see also vs 1-3)
Give thanks:
  • that we have had a good year with respect to Safe Families in Sioux County
  • for the tireless work of the Bethany staff
  • for a growing relationship between staff and ministry leads in NW IA
  • that Safe Family kids were able to return home after their mom had surgery
  • for all the donations we have received and for those who have given these donations
Be in prayer for:
  • Atlas of Sioux Center and Bethany as they explore working together with the Safe Families ministry.
  • A meeting in Des Moines (just before Christmas) with government officials as Bethany presents a request which impacts how Safe Families operats.
  • The families that have been helped by Safe Families in our area, some of which still continue to experience crisis.
  • Families who are experiencing difficulties: the holidays  often add stress and can exasperate these families into a crisis or lead to other issues at home. Pray that these families would come to our attention that we might bring "light" and peace to their lives.
